| Description (Service) | The Volunteer Action Centre builds and develops community capacity for volunteerism through four key service areas: • Facilitating resources -the Centre gathers develops and disseminates trend and program research; tools and templates; and professional guidance and feedback to community organizations to strengthen service delivery through volunteer engagement. Attention is be paid to Recruitment/Referral/Recognition and Retention of volunteers - including an active online search tool • Inspiring others and individuals – by promoting and advocating the need for and the impact of volunteerism in Waterloo Region to inspire, encourage, and motivate broader engagement • Strengthening & building relationships that support VAC & the community - Staff, board and volunteers of the Volunteer Action Centre seek out relationships and partnerships that will enhance volunteerism in Waterloo Region. These partnerships positively influence program and service delivery across all aspects of community • Building skills & knowledge - in partnership with the Waterloo Wellington Learning Alliance the Volunteer Action Centre will enable, fuel, and empower community oriented work in the voluntary sector by providing structured training and consulting services |
