Description (Service) Offer supported opportunities for frail seniors and adults with disabilities who require support to attend social/recreation programming and have a day away from home.  
     
  • Programs offer opportunities for socializing, meeting new people and building friendships in addition to recreational activities such as mental & physical stimulation and exercises, games, music, arts & crafts 
  • The program is designed for seniors who are currently or are in danger of becoming socially isolated and withdrawn and caregivers who need a break away from their caregiving responsibilities 
  • Programs are provided by a team of trained professional Recreation staff, Personal Support Workers, cooks and dedicated volunteers. 
  • Individuals who do not speak English are always welcome and there are multiple days for individuals who speak Portuguese to join with other Portuguese residents for a day of fun. 
  • A variety of programs are available to meet different health needs and interests of those attending. Fees apply according to program and location.  
  • Transportation available when required. 
Hours DURING COVID-19: When approved, In-person programs will be offered Mon-Fri and for a duration that meets Public Health guidelines.

Fees Service - Daily fees for in-person programs vary according to the program selected ; None - During COVID-19 closure - telephone based programs are provided at no cost to clients ; Fee assistance available for Low-income individuals ; assistance is provided by City of Cambridge.

Public Comments COVID-19 Update: For the safety of clients, volunteers and staff and to slow community transmission, in-person programs may not be available due to restrictions related to vulnerability of older adults, social distancing, rates of infection or facility closures. Virtual programs called WOW Social or WOW Virtual using telephone and video based technology are offered Monday to Friday as an alternate to in-person programs. New day program clients are welcome to join the WOW programs. WOW programs are also available for the general public. Please call to verify if in-person programs are operating.
