| Description (Service) | Bereaved Families of Ontario – Midwestern Region provides peer support to bereaved families, children and individuals in Waterloo Region, Guelph and Wellington County. Our programs include 8-week peer support groups for parents grieving the death of an infant and parents grieving the death of a child (of any age). Our Living with Loss program is an open, mixed-loss group for adults (18+) meeting each month in Cambridge, Kitchener, Guelph and Mount Forest. We also have a Living with Loss group specifically for those grieving a substance use death (drugs or alcohol). This group meets in Kitchener. No registration is required for Living with Loss groups. Our Healing Little Hearts program is professionally-led and for children ages 4-12. A concurrent group for parents/caregivers is held alongside the children’s group. Lastly, our Good Grief group is for teens ages 13-17 led by bereaved volunteers and a registered Social Worker. BFO-MR also offers memorial events and a lending library with grief-related books and resources. |
