Description (Service) Commemorates the arrival of the Pennsylvania-German pioneers to Waterloo Region in 1800-1803. The tower is located along the banks of the Grand River in Kitchener, Ontario. Its random-coursed fieldstone, tapered “Swiss” copper roof, and the Conestoga wagon weather vane reflect the Swiss origin and farming lifestyle of these early settlers.
Hours Open to the public by reservation. The surrounding grounds are open year-round. To make an appointment to tour the tower, interested parties can contact Woodside National Historic Site.
